Giraffe CVs provides a select variety of CV and cover letter writing options, with LinkedIn profile improvement services. Their site also contains blog posts and podcasts, providing hints and tips on how to improve your CV and employment opportunities.
This is a pretty simple service, with a few CVs to choose from, and a few additional options. You pick the level of your CV (for example, Graduate or Executive), and can then choose to pay for extras such as a cover letter, LinkedIn profile or VIP package. It’s not entirely clear what the VIP package includes, but we assume it’s a combination of all three documents.
The services aren’t particularly cheap, but they won’t break the bank either. A first draft should be with you within four days, and you can then examine the documents and request any changes. Alterations should then be done within one day, meaning that you should have a finished CV within one working week.
One of the best reasons to visit GiraffeCVs.co.uk is to check out its podcasts and blog pages. Podcasts are primarily interviews with careers experts, and they offer some useful advice which you can listen to whilst doing other things. The blog pages are updated fairly regularly (around two or three times per month) so it’s worth revisiting to check the latest tips.
The website has a few oddities floating about. For example, we found some logos and images were stretched, whilst there were also offers for fitness challenges. This seemed out of keeping with the purpose and design of the site, so was something of an anomaly.
A free CV review is available if you want to find out where you might be going wrong on your current CV. However, we feel that the website could offer more information about the documents and services they provide, and the difference between its options. A few more free resources would also be beneficial, as there’s not a lot to this site other than the basic sales page, its podcasts and blog. A few sample CVs would help to demonstrate the work that’s done, allowing potential customers to find out whether or not the service is suitable for them.
Whilst GiraffeCVs isn’t hugely expensive, the lack of information on their website means that it’s hard to make any proper judgement on whether or not their CVs will be suitable for everyone. If you’re interested in their services, we recommend calling or emailing the sales team, as well as trying out their free CV review, before deciding to pay for their full services.
