CVKnowhow.com is a UK-based CV writing service which provides an extensive range of individual documents to help you find a new job. You can pay per document or pay for a package deal which may save money in the long run. They hire 30 professional graduates to provide individual support, providing CVs which are guaranteed to satisfy you and potential employers.

The process is pretty simple. First off, you can send your current CV for a review. This is completely free, and a writer will get back to you suggesting how it might be improved. If you are happy for them to continue with your project, they can then produce an entirely new CV using the information you’ve provided or any other information you’d like to include.

Most communication is done over email, as the site claims that this prevents errors or miscommunication of facts. That makes quite a lot of sense, although it can be good to talk to someone over the phone as it’s sometimes easier to explain an issue than it is to write it out in an email.

CVs take around 5 days to produce, or 3 using an express service. If you’re in a big hurry then you can request an extra fast service which can provide your new CV within 24 hours. A range of other documents is also available, including resignation letters, cover letters and support in writing personal statements (often a bugbear when filling out application forms). 

CVKnowhow.com isn’t the cheapest CV writing service available in the UK, but its prices are fair considering you’re hiring a trained professional to potentially spend several hours working on your CV. This could soon add up if you decide to purchase multiple documents or wish to make changes after a CV has been accepted, so it may be worth considering the package options on offer, which offer some substantial savings.

If you need support, the site offers free online instant chat with a member of the team. Alternatively you can contact your writer once they’ve been assigned. Online support also includes careers advice and an FAQ which explains the CVKnowhow process in plenty of detail.

For anyone who is a little anxious about interviews, the team provides a telephone training session where you can go over the sorts of questions you might be asked and how you might best respond. Prices are fixed per each half hour, so its worth using up those 30 minute chunks in full.

CV quality is guaranteed, although the site’s not entirely clear on what the guarantee actually covers or the response you’ll receive if you’re not totally satisfied. If this is a concern, it is worth asking the customer services team a little more about what their guarantee involves should things not pan out as you expect. 

CV Knowhow has a lot of positive feedback from previous customers, proving that they produce high quality documents as they specify. Whilst it’s a little more expensive than some options, and phone options are a little limited for some, it’s a solid service which ought to deliver what most people are looking for in a CV writing service.
